Pictures: Waterfall Hike!

Remember that distant waterfall from my earlier pictures?  Doesn’t matter.  Well, it’s even bigger in person.  This morning I hiked out to see it up close and take some pictures.  I snapped about forty along the trail and of the waterfall itself.  Here are some of my favorites:

I had been eager to swim on the hike up, but I decided that Day 4 was too soon to wash up naked, bent and bloated in the Costa Rican wilderness.

 

 

I tumbled all the way down here, escorted by a cavalry of rocks and a small tree whose roots couldn't hold me. Climbing back up was not so easy.

 

This was as close as I could get to the falls. There was slick moss as thick as broccoli on nearly every stone, and I came close to falling in a couple times

That does it for the morning.  This afternoon I finally met Fabricio, the head honcho around here.  He’d been away since Sunday.  I won’t bore you all with the details yet, but we decided that my first project will be assembling a brochure for this place.  It’ll be simple compared against some of my other assignments, and it could start making a difference immediately.  Seriously, this place doesn’t even have a brochure, and people apparently ask for one all the time.  I think we’re really missing out.  Anyway, I’m going to take a nap.  It’s been a pretty big day so far, and I usually play soccer with the staff in the afternoon.  

Thanks to everyone who’s been keeping up and/or posting comments.  I like to know that people are reading.  Yesterday, I got 54 hits; I’m already past that today!  Bookmark me!  I’ll probably stop updating every day once I get down to real work (or as close to real work as one can get here) but I’ll still update at least once a week.  Hasta luego.
